Already paid? Preparing a payment defence
By Bekerman & Co. · Law Office
An enforcement debtor who says a debt has been paid may use the Israeli procedure known as parati to seek closure of the case or a lower balance. Identify exactly what was paid. Note the amount, transfer date, recipient and obligation the money was intended to cover.
If the same creditor has several cases, include records connecting the payment to the relevant one. A transfer receipt with a message from the creditor may explain more than an account balance alone. Check the official service for affidavit and form requirements, particularly where several debtors share a case.
