Checking the balance after paying a creditor directly
By Bekerman & Co. · Law Office
After paying a creditor directly, compare the receipt with the enforcement case balance. Check whether the payment appears, its date and the amount credited. A difference between two balances alone does not explain its cause. Review the transactions in the file to understand the calculation.
Where a payment outside the case has yet to be reflected, the Enforcement and Collection Authority describes a request to reduce the debt. Either the creditor or the debtor can apply. Gather the case number, receipt and a short account of the payment, then keep the decision with those documents.
